Offer Generator buffer warnings
In the Offer Generator, next to each vehicle you may see a small icon or a short label. It tells you how close that vehicle’s existing bookings are to the dates of your quote.
What you can see
-
Red warning icon
This vehicle already has a booking that overlaps your selected dates, or the previous booking ends at the exact same time your quote starts (no free time in between).
Hover for details: when the existing rental ends, when your quote starts, and how much they overlap. -
Orange / amber warning icon
There is some free time between the existing booking and your quote, but it is shorter than the recommended prep buffer (washing, checks, handover).
Hover for: the neighbouring rental, your quote times, available gap vs recommended gap. -
Blue label with hours (e.g.
32h)
Not a hard conflict — only a heads-up that another rental is nearby (within about two days), with more free time than the recommended buffer.
Hover for when that rental ends/starts (and city if available).
If there is nothing next to the vehicle, neighbouring bookings are far enough away that no warning is shown.
How the system decides
It compares your quote start/end with that vehicle’s other rentals and looks at the free gap:
- No free time (or overlapping dates) → red
- Some free time, but less than the recommended buffer → orange
- More than the recommended buffer, but still within ~48 hours → blue hours label
- More than ~48 hours free → nothing shown
Which bookings count
The warning looks at Requested, Confirmed, and Maintenance bookings for that vehicle.
Canceled bookings are ignored.
Important: this is a warning, not a hard block.
A Requested booking can still show a red/orange/blue indicator, even if the car is still considered available until that request is confirmed. The icon is a heads-up so you can decide whether the risk is acceptable.
Recommended buffer
The “recommended” gap comes from company settings (default is usually 4 hours).
That is the minimum time suggested between rentals for preparation. You can change it in Settings → Tariffs (recommended buffer hours). A larger value means more orange warnings for tight turnovers; a smaller value means fewer.
If several rentals are nearby
The icon always reflects the most serious case (red over orange over blue). Hovering can show more than one neighbouring rental.
In short
| What you see | Meaning for you |
|---|---|
| Red icon | Dates clash, or zero time between rentals — treat as a real problem |
| Orange icon | Fits on paper, but turnover may be too tight for prep |
| Blue hours | Nearby rental, for awareness only |
| Nothing | No close bookings for those dates |
If a specific quote still looks wrong, share the vehicle and the quote dates and we can check that case.
